John Edwards to endorse Obama. Possible VP running mate?

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

The political blogosphere is anticipating John Edward’s endorsement of Barak Obama.  Despite Edward’s earlier statement indicating that he was not interested in being a VP candidate, pundits are now making a compelling case for Edward’s as Obama’s VP running mate.  Read about it here

Having Edwards as a ‘mate could be a shrewd move by Obama, who has been struggling with the dumb redneck vote. In addition, in early contest canvassing, Edwards was routinely shown to be the most electable candidate in the Democratic field.

We wrote earlier about the Moderate Liberal Dream Ticket being Edwards/Obama.  Either way you slice, it would still be a great ticket.

Presumably, Edward’s endorsement will come with the 18 delegates he earned in IA and NH, inching Obama that must closer to the magic number of delegates necessary to clinch the nomination.

It’s about time, John!  Welcome back.

Edwards says no to VP spot. Endorsement still unspoken

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Moments ago, John Edwards said in Las Vegas that he would not accept the Vice Presidential spot on either an Obama or Clinton presidential ticket.

I’ve always thought John Edwards would make a fantastic Attorney General, or Supreme Court Justice. It is easy to see one of those positions in Mr. Edward’s future.

Still unspoken is Edward’s endorsement.  John, for the good of America, please put an end to Clinton’s campaign and lets get on with the business of retaking America. Its clear that Obama’s campaign has more in common with your goals than Clinton’s.  Please endorse Obama soon.

Edwards to Endorse Obama

Great news for Obama Supporters!

I just received a call from Obama for America. Besides setting me back $50 (I always give to these guys, even when I’m broke), I was very excited to hear from the caller about two key endorsements that Barak Obama has picked up today.  The first is already in the news: Governor Bill Richardson has been in the press as solidly endorsing Obama.

But the second endorsement both surprised and thrilled me: according to the campaign, John Edwards will endorse Obama this week, after coverage of Richardson’s endorsement has run its course. Edward’s endorsement will come with his 18 delegates, which will put further distance between Obama and Hillary Clinton.

I’m glad Obama for America is already using the Edwards endorsement to raise funds. Why wait till tomorrow.
