Slate launches “Hillary Deathwatch”

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Hillary’s campaign is winding down, whether she’s prepared to go on for 100 years or not.  Further evidence is Slate.com’s new Hillary Deathwatch.

Slate launched the Deathwatch after it became aparent that Hillary cannot overtake Obama neither in delegates nor in popular vote. Superdelegates would destroy the party by overturning the popular results.  They would instantly turn the Democratic party into the Undemocratic party.  Her odds of winning are a mere 12%, according to Slate.

It’s time for Hillary to step down, so that the focus can be on beating McCain. Hillary had her chance. She blew it.

Let the Democratic party go on to victory in November, lest the Undemocratic party go on to defeat

Clinton must go. NOW! Where is Edwards?

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

If you have wondering why Hillary Clinton’s campaign has gone from invincible, unstoppable, and inevitable to Barak Obama’s also-ran, wonder no more.

Here is the latest reason, as published by the Boston Globe.  Republicans had her right all along: she is a liar. She will say anything to win

Meanwhile, she tries to crucify Barak Obama for going to church. He hasn’t said or done anything wrong, so she can only hone in on the verbal missteps of other people.

Her campaing has been two faced all along. While Bill Clinton says that a spirited campaign is good, and that candidates better be ready to mix it up, the Clinton camp then turns around and seemingly cries foul at every tough question tossed their way.

Now we learn that influential Clinton supporters (aka democratic party “rich folk”) are litereally threatening Nancy Pelosi because she has the audacity to hope that the party’s super delegates will not overturn the will of the popular vote.

Did you hear that? Clinton would easily toss aside the will of the people, as long at it fits her personal purpose.  She doesn’t care what the people want. Screw the people, says Clinton.

Hillary Clinton will do anything, say anything, and threaten anyone to win the Democratic party nomination.

Suddenly, the smoke is clearing and Democrats  everywhere are starting see her as Republicans have for years: a manipulative, divisive, mean spirited, anti-democratic bitch that MUST NOT become President. Her plummeting popularity that proves that she is increasingly unelectable as Democrats and Independents begin to see the Real Hillary.  Clinton clearly represents the old-guard, a by-gone era that no American should be subjected to (including Republicans).

There is a better choice than Clinton for the Democratic party nomination, and there are two better choices for America’s next president.

Hillary Clinton must drop out of the race now.  For the good of the party.

John Edwards, where are you?! —now is time to endorse Barak Obama, and put an end to Hillary Clinton’s failed bid. John, you had the courage to drop out when the time was right. Now help Hillary understand that its over. Put an end to the bleeding, and lets gone on with retaking the White House.

Edwards to Endorse Obama

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Great news for Obama Supporters!

I just received a call from Obama for America. Besides setting me back $50 (I always give to these guys, even when I’m broke), I was very excited to hear from the caller about two key endorsements that Barak Obama has picked up today.  The first is already in the news: Governor Bill Richardson has been in the press as solidly endorsing Obama.

But the second endorsement both surprised and thrilled me: according to the campaign, John Edwards will endorse Obama this week, after coverage of Richardson’s endorsement has run its course. Edward’s endorsement will come with his 18 delegates, which will put further distance between Obama and Hillary Clinton.

I’m glad Obama for America is already using the Edwards endorsement to raise funds. Why wait till tomorrow.

Don’t blame Abe Lincoln for the value of the penny. He’s just being honest.

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

It seems everyone these days is dumping on Honest Abe Liconln’s penny.  It seems it now costs more to produce and distribute zinc pennies (no, they stopped making them with copper in 1982 when the penny was debased – they’re zinc alright).

Why blame the messenger?  Poor Abe had nothing to do with this.   The problem with the rising cost of zinc and other commodities like silver and gold should be blamed on the idiots who are debasing and destroying our proud U.S. economy with profligate spending policies and idiotic monetary policies.

It amazes me that some people are calling for “getting rid of the damn penny,” when really, we need to get rid of the reasons and the people who are making the penny worthless.  Sure, we can debase it and start making pennies out of lead, but eventually…. even the value of the lead will exceed the value of the penny.  Eventually, we could get rid of the nickel, the dime, then the quarter….

Lets not blame the messenger.  Old Abe is just telling us, honestly, that our monetary and inflationary policies stink. We need to get inflation under control

Another poor American health care experience.

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

When it comes to health care, Republicans are well advised to wake up and smell the vomit.

I have a child who suffers from a respiratory ailment, and he had a sudden attack tonight.

First, not wanting to incur a giant insurance fee for using an after hours emergency room, we went to a walk in clinic. But the clinic closes at six, and it was now 6:14.  So we drove across town to use the emergency room, since that was all that was available to us.

Flu is rampant in our city right now, and the waiting room was packed with very sick people, some of whom had told me they had been there for hours. We were forced to sit with these people (God help me if I contract this flu. It looks like a bad one).

This flu has been ramping up for many days in our town.  Why the hospital can’t measure this and schedule more interns on a shift is beyond me.  For what these doctors earn, you would think they would be available round the clock.

We never did see a doctor. After 3 hours of horrible waiting room television and seeing a woman vomit on the floor in front of us, we decided to take our changes at home.

Hillary “Monster” Clinton roars again, Obama advisor resigns

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Ny Times just reported that Samantha Power, a foreign policy adviser to Barack Obama, apologized for calling Hillary Rodham Clinton “a monster” and then resigned her post as an advisor to Barak Obama.

The problem is, she spoke the truth.  Hillary Clinton IS a monster, who will say ANYTHING to get elected.

Clinton already demonstrated she has a total lack of judgement when it comes to voting to authorize force in Iraq and then Iran, but now she is showing judgement of an equillay reckless caliber with her “slash and burn” campaign technique, whereby she praises John McCain and demonizes a fellow Democrat.

The loss of a trusted advisor might help Obama heal the open wounds with Clinton supporters after he ultimately wins the nomination.  But lets be clear: Samantha Power’s comments were clearly on the mark.  Her departure is further evidence of the difference between these campaigns: one values integrity, the other will say anything.  But in this case Powers can be forgiven for speaking the truth, even if it is as ugly as Hillary Rove Clinton.

Florida and Michigan Delegates must not be seated.

Friday, March 7th, 2008

The issue about seating Florida and Michigan delegates continues to rage.  But its a non issue.

The states were warned not to move their primaries and fully aware of the consequences. They did so anyway.

The candidate did not campaign there.

Super delegates can weigh the wishes of these states.  But Florida and Michigan must not be rewarded for the chaos which they have brought upon themselves and the party.

I don’t care who you are, you’re not bigger than the national party.  I feel bad for those who voted, because it was not their fault directly.

The rules are the rules.

HRC’s call to seat delegates simply because they favor her is a disengenuous attempt to manipulate the situation to her advantage.  Just more dirty-tricks tactics from her slash-and-burn campaign, as we have come to expect.

Why is Hillary running for McCain’s VP spot?

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Since Edwards graciously left the race for the Democratic nomination, I quickly and easily transferred my support to Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

I get asked frequently: despite my contempt for a Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton presidential succession, would I vote for HRC if she gets the nomination? The answer is Yes, I sadly, angrily, would.

But thats about all you can count on me for: it won’t be a vote for HRC as much as a vote against a conservative supreme court.

My enthusiasm will not transfer from BHO to HRC. I won’t be knocking on doors or driving little old ladies from Dem neighborhoods to the polling places. The extradinary money flow from my checking account to BHO will not transfer to HRC. It will be very difficult to put aside the hard feelings that she is inspiring… some very serious outreach will be required. I’ll cast my vote, but I won’t “believe we can” win this election in my heart with HRC. My expectations would be very low. My interest in the Democratic party would likely wane markedly. I would look forward to a challenge within the Democratic party in 4 years.

Hillary’s recent and well publicized praise of John McCain’s foreign policy credentials at the expense of Obama (and indeed, at her own expense) is just more proof that she is the wrong nominee. What a pathetic, mean spirited, stupid slash-and-burn strategy. If her underhanded tactics work and she is the nominee, this will come back to haunt her deny her hte presidency.  But its about what I have come to expect from Clinton, so in my heart I am not surprised.

It appears that in her desperation to, not just defeat but destroy Obama, she seems to be courting a VP spot on the McCain ticket. She is doing McCain’s campaigning for him.
