Senators Vote Against Free Speech by condemning MoveOn.org

Today the Senate passed a measure condemning MoveOn.org for a newspaper ad it ran last week, questioning Gen. David Petraeus as he stumped to win support for continuing the war. The move came as President Bush is flailing to win support of his failed policy of Iraq, and accusing Democrats of cowering to the political action group.

Have you seen the ad? Take a look. We see it as very thoughtful, factual and timely. It is not derogatory.

Just when one thinks that they have seen it all from this Senate, they find another way to express their childishness. Shame on the 75 Senators who voted for this childish measure, which accomplishes absolutely nothing, but rather reveals just how incapacitated this body has become.

To the Senators who do not support MoveOn.org, what you have accomplished is not a repudiation of their tactics, but rather a validation of the group’s power. We are all talking about MoveOn.org now, aren’t we?

MoveOn.org is nothing but a loose-knit collection of people who are not afraid to fight for their beliefs.  By repudiating MoveOn.org, Senators, you insult the truest of Americans who are willing to do the heavy lifting on Iraq that this disgusting Senate body is fully and morally incapabile of doing.

Shame, Senators. Get the hell to work, and stop trying to divert us from the truth.  How dare you take on such a ridiculous issue while Americans are dying in Iraq.
